""I will be with him in trouble
(Psalm 91:15)
Wonderful promise – dear child of the Kingdom–
I will be with him in trouble, I will;
With him in hours of the direst affliction;
With him in times of unspeakable ill.
I will be with him! I will not forsake him;
Wonderful Presence–unseen, but so nigh,
Wonderful fact–that He complies with us–
Faithful, unchanging, and standing nearby.
With us – to keep us from heart-break and sorrow;
With us – to teach us some things we should know;
With us – to give us what we cannot borrow –
Treasures from darkness, and triumph in woe.
Trouble there must be! Tis linked with this promise!
Trouble must be–not to blight but to bless;
Trouble to shew us the wondrous salvation
Of His dear Presence in all our distress.
